Target plans to acquire technology from last-mile batch delivery startup Deliv.

The retailer said it plans to use the technology for faster package deliveries and to attain lower shipping costs.

“Our game-changing fulfillment services, like Order Pickup, Drive Up and Shipt, have already made same-day delivery and pickup possible for millions of guests,” said Arthur Valdez, Target’s executive vice president and chief supply chain and logistics officer. “This technology is just one more example of how Target is investing for the future of local delivery.”

Target plans to incorporate the Deliv technology into its supply chain.
